Duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as primary strategist with the Mount Pleasant Community Development Corporation in identifying funding agencies and community organizations who can support the ministry.
- Work closely with ministry leaders to understand funding needs, then research organizations that support these needs.
- Creatively develop approaches to pursue funding partnerships.
- Partner with ministry leadership to develop comprehensive proposals for funding with the goal of increasing revenue for the ministry.
- Establish annual investments goals and report at least quarterly on progress towards goals.
- Determine which funders have potential for greater support and develop cultivation and solicitation steps for prospects.
- Develop standard language for the ministry to share with funders.
- This is a highly collaborative position that requires significant coordination, strategy development, phone call and follow-up actions with ministry leadership and CDC engagement/collaboration.

You will work closely with the Chief of Internal Operations to ensure the MPCM experience is reflected in the engagement of staff with visitors to our campus. You will also be responsible for managing the effective and accurate accounting of the MPCM membership database.
Administrative Office Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service to all members of the Mount Pleasant Church and Ministry (MPCM) community.

Job title Bookkeeper

MPCM is in search of Bookkeeper to join the MPCM Finance Department. Serving as a resource for spiritual, physical and educational needs for over 89 years, Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries is a mainstay for both Baltimore City, Baltimore County and the surrounding municipalities. In support of ministry and community activities, the MPCM Finance Department oversees all the financial activities of MPCM. This part time position will join a team comprised of a Chief Financial Officer, a Director of Finance and a senior accountant.
Key responsibilities will include:
The bookkeeper will process and maintain the accounts payable records of the organization, including but not limited to: vendor invoices, ministry requests, reviewing and obtaining supporting documentation, recording and importing all invoices and ministry requests into Quickbooks for payment, printing checks, processing and posting EFT payments. The primary responsibility of this role will be to process a large and growing volume of A/P invoices, maintain all records/files for A/P, along with serving as the backup to the other finance staff. Specific responsibilities follow:
Process accounts payable, including reconciling payment requests and issuing checks.
Serve as the first line of review for Ministry disbursement requests; ensure proper coding, backup, and descriptions are present.
Manage vendors, including collecting W-9s on an ongoing basis, setting up new vendors in Quickbooks, making address changes and assisting with annual 1099s.
Collect accrual information, review and prepare monthly accrual reversing journal entry.
Maintain vendor files; file completed payment requests with all backup and check stubs weekly, prepare and file EFT approved documentation weekly.
Maintain records of all voided checks and invoices.
Scan finance documents for electronic filing such as attachments to Ministry requests.
Post and reconcile online giving revenue, as needed.
Research and correct A/P discrepancies.
Assist with annual fiscal audit preparation and execution.
Other duties as requested by CFO and Director of Finance.
Skills required: At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience. Prior support to a non-profit organization is desirable but not required. Proficient with Quickbooks and/or Quickbooks online. Strong oral and written communication skills required. The ability to perform duties with discretion and compassion.
Workdays/hours: This position will work on the MPCM campus at 6000 Radecke Avenue in Baltimore on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for up to 24 hours total per week. Additional hours may occasionally be requested on these days to support short suspense requirements.

- Oversee all Marriage Ministry events/activities, ensuring that they are based on biblical principles, are attracting couples of different ages, and are consistent with the needs of engaged/married couples.

MPCM is looking for a Director of Finance. This is a full-time, on-site position at our expansive campus in Baltimore. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 8 years of experience in a senior accounting position are required. A CPA and/or Master’s degree is a plus, as is experience working with a religious and/or non-profit entity. The MPCM Director of Finance manages day-to-day finance operations and staff, cash flow management, budget forecasting, and oversees the accounting system and financial reporting. In addition to being very knowledgeable in financial forecasting, accounting principles and financial data analysis, this position requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, outstanding integrity, solid moral judgment and the ability to make important decisions under pressure. This individual will lead a small finance team which serves a large church complex comprised of dozens of ministries and community outreach initiatives.
