MPCM’s Evangelism Ministry stands ready to lead men, women, and children to the Lord Jesus Christ in a variety of ways including Altar Counseling, Follow-up, Global Outreach, Missions, Nursing Home Services, Street Ministry and Community Outreach events.

Evangelism Mission Statement

It is our obtainable goal to awaken the call of the ministry of reconciliation in every believer according to what we believe to be taught in the Holy Scriptures and make evangelism a top priority in the church and the Body of Christ, as it is vital to church growth and Christian discipleship.

We specifically desire that the passion level of the Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries family will continually increase for our Lord and Savior as well as for those lost in darkness. Therefore, we will teach, train, and equip the saints to reach a greater multitude of people, regardless of ethnicity, culture, or background, causing a positive impact in the church body, the surrounding communities, city, state, and country as we continue to Reach the World for Jesus Christ!

Spiritual Gifts and Qualifications Helpful for Willing Servants

• Spiritual gifts: servanthood, teaching, exhortation (encouragement), leadership, faith, discernment, and evangelism.
• A passion God, His people, and those lost in the world.
• A commitment to Christ and passion for telling by word and action the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ to all people.
• Useful skills include the ability to listen to and communicate with people of all ages.

Overview of Evangelism Areas of Ministry

• Community Outreaches – From spring to fall we go to different communities and give free food, household items, clothing, Bibles, and inspirational books, and a preached Word that shares the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Usually at least two of these outreaches specifically services the homeless community.
• Follow-Up – We put new believer in Christ on the path to discipleship through a personal-touch system. The process involves working with the church office and MPCM Care Ministry to encourage, pray and distribute materials while making personal contact with new converts.
• MP Global Outreach (Missions) – The vision is to reach the world for Jesus Christ so that he would be glorified in every people group, every tongue, and every culture in the world.
• Nursing Home Outreaches – We visit various nursing homes and have worship services to demonstrate the love of Christ to those who are no longer mobile and cannot attend church services on a regular basis.
• Street Ministry – Our ministry is committed to share the message of Christ with all people. Through street ministry, we go into communities throughout Baltimore City and Baltimore County and share the Gospel with all those we encounter.
• Altar Counseling – Lead men, women, and children to the Lord Jesus Christ each time the Word is preached and the invitation to come be a disciple of Christ is extended to those who hear His call during any of MPCM’s worship services.
