About Us
Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries (MPCM) is dedicated to supporting graduating high school seniors in pursuing higher education through the Mount Pleasant Scholarship Fund (MPSF). Our mission is to provide financial assistance to help alleviate the economic burden on students and their families while demonstrating our commitment to their success. We believe in investing in the future of our young members by offering scholarships that not only provide financial aid but also instill faith in Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.
Why Do We Need More Income?
Currently, we raise funds through an annual appeal in March, with donations collected via Givelify, PayPal, and church envelopes. However, to make a greater impact and increase the award amounts for our students, we need to expand our income streams.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 annually, allowing us to provide each scholarship recipient with a computer or tablet in addition to their cash award. With rising education costs and limited external resources, we must take bold steps to generate more sustainable and consistent funding.
We are looking for fresh, creative fundraising ideas! In addition to our existing appeal, we want to develop:
- Corporate sponsorships and partnerships with local businesses
- Fundraising events such as benefit concerts, silent auctions, and community fairs, Food truck nights
- Recurring donor programs that encourage monthly giving
- Grant applications to secure external funding sources
- Online crowdfunding campaigns to reach a broader audience
- Creative initiatives such as merchandise sales or special giving challenges
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure financial contributions.
- Organize and manage annual and new fundraising campaigns, including the annual appeal in March.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Expand and diversify revenue streams beyond existing donation platforms.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, both virtual and in-person.
- Collaborate with the Scholarship Team to integrate fundraising efforts with the ministry’s goals.
- Track and report fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Promote fundraising efforts through church communications, social media, and community outreach.
