Location: 6000 Radecke Avenue, Baltimore, MDMusic and production industry giants such as April Washington, Kier Johnson, JB Wilkens, Sanchez Harley, Dr. Eric Conway, and more will judge the Pre-Final performances. The two acts chosen on each pre-final date will advance to the finals. Come on out to see who makes the cuts.The final competition will be held on Saturday June 21, 2014 at the Mount Pleasant Family and Friends Festival. The winner will receive $1,000 and be the opening act at the Mount Pleasant Family & Friends Concert on Sunday June 22, 2014 featuring Tye Tribbett and Anita Wilson. Outlet Live Pre-Final Competitions: The competition consists of three pre-final sessions. Each pre-final competition shall be formatted to accommodate the gospel acts scheduled to perform on that given date. All pre-final sessions will be held in the Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries chapel. Each pre-final session will take place on 3 Saturday session (March 29th, April 26th, and May 24th, 2014) between the hours of 1 pm and 3 pm. Upon receipt of the entry form and fee, a pre-final competition date and time will be scheduled and the act will be notified by phone and e-mail. All acts must perform in person. All gospel acts must perform a minimum of 1 minute 30 seconds and a maximum of 5 minutes. Once scheduled, the performance time is fixed. If the scheduled gospel act is late, the performance and fee are forfeited. Two gospel acts will be chosen, at each pre-final competition, by the voting panel, to participate in the final competition.Outlet Live Final Competitions: The final competition will take place on Saturday, 21 June 2014. The location will be the main stage at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries’ 2014 Family and Friends outdoor gathering. Pre-final winners will be scheduled between the hours of 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. All finalist must perform in person. All gospel acts must perform a minimum of 9 minutes and a maximum of 12 minutes. Once scheduled, the performance time is fixed. If the scheduled final gospel act is late the performance is forfeited. The winner will be chosen at the conclusion of the final competition.GENERAL RULES Admission & Parking: Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries operate in ministerial excellence. There is a no smoking on the campus policy. There is open parking. Outlet Live Gospel Competition officials shall will not be responsible for contestant’s vehicles and or property. All gospel acts are required to pay the same MPCM Outlet Live Competition entrance fee. All Judges’ decisions are final and scores are not released to acts or the public. Acts will be judged on the performance quality (including selection), stage presence and originality. All rules are subject to change without prior notification.

Gospel acts are permitted to perform selections of their choosing, subject to the discretion of the Outlet Live Gospel Competition officials. Once scheduled, the performance time is fixed. If the scheduled gospel act is late, the performance and fee are forfeited. Points will be deducted for acts going overtime.

Gospel acts are permitted to perform selections of their choosing, subject to the discretion of the Outlet Live Gospel Competition officials. Once scheduled, the performance time is fixed. If the scheduled final gospel act is late the performance is forfeited. Points will be deducted for acts going overtime.

SOUND AND ACCOMPANIMENT Sound System: If sound amplification is necessary, all acts are required to use the sound system and sound technician provided by the Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries. The church will also provide microphones, monitors, a keyboard, a bass amp, a guitar amp, a drum set, an iPod attachment, and a compact disc player. All other instruments (guitars, horns, and specials) must be provided by act, if needed. The church does not allow microphones supplied by the act. If you need to use our accompanist, be sure to note it on your entry form.

Recorded accompaniment: A CD is REQUIRED. Please make sure your CD works in a CD player and not just on your computer. Vocalists may use recorded accompaniment, provided it contains instrumental accompaniment ONLY; absolutely no vocals (unless background vocals for soloist) are allowed on the recording. For vocal gospel acts, acts will be disqualified if accompaniment recording has support vocals for layering of any kind.
