We believe God has called us to live a life of love in our marriage in a pro-active, CHRIST-LIKE manner. We regard our GOD and each other as more important than ourselves. Furthermore, we believe God has called us to be “MARRIAGE MISSIONARIES” to love, live, learn, and lead others to live in healthy Covenantal Relationship with Christ and with each other. We extend an invitation to you to come aboard. We’re excited to see how God will use your gifts to benefit His Kingdom through this ministry.

SB1

SB1(Shall Be One) is looking for couples to fulfill the roles and key positions within the Marriage Ministry. These positions’ responsibilities include great commitment and faithfulness to the success of the Ministry’s vision, mission, and goals. Those who accept a role as a coordinator for the ministry pledge to be committed to a personal, growing relationship with Christ, to their own marriage, to motivate and lead other couples, and to manifest the MPCM vision (F.E.D.) and carry out its mission.

SB1 exists to help and encourage couples to have a healthy and strong marriage based on God’s design for the family, and to host events with educational and creative resources.

Our Mission Statement

SB1’s mission is to empower the Covenant of Marriage by utilizing solid Biblical principles and truths to strengthen all marriages and to assist couples in learning the patterns and the core skills for a healthy family life. We are committed to the vision of the house…You Are FED at Mount Pleasant with Family, Evangelism, and Discipleship as our focus.

SB1 Marriage Ministry Objectives…

The objectives of the SB1 Marriage Ministry include:

    • To deter and decrease the divorce rate and marital conflict in the local church and community.
    • To equip and provide the necessary tools to couples for the betterment of their relationship with God and each other.
    • To change behavioral patterns that damage and bring division to relationships through the study of Biblical principles by teaching couples how to apply what they have learned.
    • To assist married and engaged couples in understanding the Biblical view of marriage by targeting three specific areas:
      • Pre-Marital Preparation
      • Marital Enrichment
      • Post-Marital Survival

      SB1 Pledge

      As members of the SB1Marriage Ministry, we pledge to:

      • Be committed to a personal and growing relationship with God in Christ Jesus,
      • Be committed and faithful to our own marriages,
      • Be committed to motivate and lead other couples as we follow Christ,
      • Be committed to intense preparation for the challenge of creating Christ-centered marriages; and
      • Be committed to help manifest the vision of Bishop Johnson, the mission of Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries and the SB1 Marriage Ministry.
